Personal Life Story Of Aron Coltrane
The story of my coming to faith in Jesus Christ is not a dramatic one, at least not in my mind, although salvation in and of itself is always dramatic and incredible. I was raised in a Christian family and was in church essentially every Sunday. From a young age, the facts that there is a God; that Jesus is God come to earth as a man to pay the penalty for our sins; and that faith in him is so very important, were impressed upon me. I don’t remember the date, but I do remember praying with my mom one evening in my bedroom to give my life to Jesus.
Sometimes I feel that not really having a “before and after” to my testimony renders it a little less valuable to others than the testimony of someone who was saved later in life and came to faith in Jesus through more desperate situations. But I’ve been so blessed to not have it any other way. While my life is far from perfect, I always try to rejoice in the fact that I’ve been spared from many of the hardships and resulting scars that those who head down a different path earlier in life may experience. And though I don’t know what the rest of my life will bring, I can trust that His promise for His children is completely dependable.
being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
